I have been a Lay Ecclesial Minister for 13 years. In plain English that means that I am a non-ordained minister in the Catholic Church. I have worked on the pastoral staffs of 3 parishes in the San Francisco East Bay Area in the area of Faith Formation of adults and children (otherwise known as Religious Education or CCD).
I am currently the Pastoral Associate and Director of
Faith Formation for the Catholic Community of Pleasanton. I oversee the
coordinators of 6 programs and 2 administrative assistants. I
personally coordinate our Adult Scripture Study, and Catechist
Formation. It's a very busy job.
While I served as Director of Adult Faith Formation at another parish, I began to write articles for the parish bulletin. The parishioners enjoyed it and asked for more, so I began to write an article each week. Some of my writing can be found on my blog page, "Antiphon: Call and Response."
But, as they say in the infomercials, wait - there's more! I teach a class called "Catholic Faith and Practice" for our Diocesan School for Pastoral Ministry. I am also a regional representative to the Lay Ecclesial Ministry Council, and am a member of the Deacon Formation Advisory Board.
In my spare time (ha!) I serve as a cantor to our parish community. Music is one of the enduring passions of my life and I am never far away from some musical activity.
I have been married for 27 years and have two sons.
